Samsung Launches World’s Biggest Curved Monitor in India

Samsung India, the country’s biggest and most trusted consumer electronics brand, today announced the launch of the world’s biggest curved monitor in India. The 49” ultra-wide curved monitor makes life easier for working professionals and gaming enthusiasts, alike.

At 49 inches, 32:9 super ultra-wide curved, the QLED Monitor is pushing boundaries as the widest monitor available today. It gives users the opportunity to enjoy a completely bezel-free, fluid and fast-paced field of view, unmatched by any other monitor in the segment. Optimised for staid professionals, it offers a large screen combined with stunning picture quality and burn in resistance.

The monitor is available at INR 150,000 on Samsung Shop and will soon be made available at all leading retail outlets.

“Samsung has always been at the forefront of consumer-centric innovations and the launch of QLED Curved monitor is in line with that very commitment. A perfect companion for serious business professionals and gaming enthusiasts, the monitor is not only the biggest in the category, but also a trend setter in terms of specifications and technology,” Mr. Puneet Sethi, Vice President, Consumer Electronics Enterprise Business, Samsung India, said.

To make viewing experience highly comfortable, the monitor uses Eye Saver Mode and Flicker Free Technology which enhances eye comfort – perfect for professionals who need to spend long hours at their work stations every day. The Monitor’s Eye Saver Mode obstructs Blue light wavelengths that stimulate the retina more than what any other colour does, thereby reducing eye-fatigue.

The ‘Easy Setting Box S/W’ application on the desktop lets user partition the screen into displays of various sizes and functional configurations for smarter multitasking. Other features include increased speed, finer control and multiple input ports that make it easier to connect the display with any device.

Its quantum dot technology takes the monitor experience to the next level with advancements in light efficiency, stability and a wider colour spectrum. With new metal alloy quantum dots, the QLED monitor addresses all major aspects of picture quality, including colour volume, brightness, bold contrast and viewing angle.

The monitor packs in High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology which offers greater contrast, spectacular depth and range to the colour, allowing dark areas to appear darker and light areas to appear brighter. It also provides an impressive motion picture response time coupled with low input lag, i.e., how fast the screen responds to commands, thereby reducing eye strain and preventing “ghosting”.

The Audi MMI system impresses with a diverse range of audio functions, precise navigation via Google Maps, Bluetooth integration, Audi Connect 4G LTE connection and a wealth of apps. Many functions can be controlled with the multifunction steering wheel, along with the views of the Audi virtual cockpit. It transforms the analog instrument cluster into a digital screen that adapts to the customer’s wishes and needs. The driver can select between the traditional display and the infotainment mode. The navigation maps or telephone, radio and audio lists dominate here within a large window between the two round dials. i) The nationwide e-way Bill system will be ready to be rolled out on a trial basis latest by 16th January, 2018. Trade and transporters can start using this system on a voluntary basis from 16th January, 2018.
ii) The rules for implementation of nationwide e-way Bill system for inter-State movement of goods on a compulsory basis will be notified with effect from 1 st February, 2018. This will bring uniformity across the States for seamless inter-State movement of goods.
iii) While the system for both inter-State and intra-State e-way Bill generation will be ready by 16th January, 2018, the States may choose their own timings for implementation of e-way Bill for intra-State movement of goods on any date before 1 st June, 2018. There are certain States which are already having system of e-way Bill for intra-State as well as inter-State movement and some of those States can be early adopters of national eway Bill system for intra-State movement also. Vodafone Offers 2GB Data Per Day, Unlimited Local And STD Calls And More At Rs 348 To Counter Jio’s Rs 399 Plan

Vodafone Offers 2GB Data Per Day, Unlimited Local And STD Calls And More At Rs 348 To Counter Jio’s Rs 399 Plan. This Vodafone plan which was first launched in August this year comes as a major competition to Airtel's Rs 349 plan and Jio's 399 plan that offer exciting deals for its prepaid customers.

New Delhi, December 14: Telecom major Vodafone India has revised its Rs 348 pack for prepaid customers to counter rival Jio and Airtel’s disruptive offers. Under the new plan, users who got 1GB of data per day will now be able to get 2GB data per day. This means prepaid users are eligible to effectively get a total of 56GB of data along with voice calling facilities for 28 days at Rs 348. The plan, which was first launched in August this year comes as a major competition to Airtel’s Rs 349 plan and Jio’s 399 plan that offer exciting deals for its prepaid customers.
The entry of Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio in September 2016 waged a data war in the telecom sector, forcing rival telcos to slash their tariff rates to retain their customers. Since then, all the major telcos including Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, and others have been revising their plans and rolling out new ones to benefit customers.  Under the newly upgraded Vodafone plan, the telco is providing unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls with a daily cap of 250 minutes. This means Vodafone users taking up this plan will be able to make voice calls not more than 25 minutes every day, after which a 1 paisa per second will be charged. It had to be noted that the users can use 1000 calling minutes in a week.
As per reports, users are also eligible for a 5 percent cash back on availing the 348 plan from the app and website. If we were to compare this plan with Airtel and Jio, the Rs 349 Airtel plan offers 2GB 4G data per day, 28-day validity, free calls, and 100 SMSes per day while the Jio’s Rs 309 plan offers 49GB data at 1GB per day and 49-day validity, along with free calls, 3,000 SMSes, roaming outgoing calls.

Pollution related - If they don't do anything, can we remain the silent spectators?

Yeah, that's the CRUX. They have everything on the table, but they are not willing to do anything. Vehicular emissions & the encroachment increasing day by day, causing severe traffic jam all over, causing pollution & the main source of NO2, SO2, Benzene as well as the PM 2.5, but none there to come forward to control it.

WHO says, that over 30,000 persons are killed every year in Delhi & NCR due to pollution. Chicago University says that the residents of Delhi & NCR are losing up to 6 to 9 years of their life due to Pollution.CSE says that every 3rd child in Delhi has the Lungs problem. UNICEF says that pollution is having a very bad impact on the brains of our children.

We are shouting but on the Social media, WhatsApp and no more.

My QUESTION is, if they don't come forward or if they don't do anything, can we remain the silent spectators?

Top women on TV in the last 8 years

Article by Emma Brankin

From binge-watching to on-demand, the way we watched TV has changed and we’re watching more of it than ever. But it’s not just our viewing habits which have evolved. Innovations, such as Samsung’s QLED TVs, deliver 100 percent color volume, deep blacks and bold contrast levels that means anyone can enjoy an unrivaled viewing experience from the comfort of their own home. Samsung’s QLED TVs also boast excellent HDR levels resulting in more detail in darker and brighter scenes.

The average UK household upgrades their television every 8 years and in a series of special posts from showbiz writer Emma Brankin, we’re taking a look back at some of the most memorable and iconic TV moments which have taken place during that time.

2017 has been another fantastic year for women on the silver screen. From the bad-ass ladies of Game of Thrones to the sisterhood shown on Big Little Lies and the sensational female-centric Handmaid’s Tale, there’s been lots to celebrate. And just before we see what empowering females 2018 has to offer, Claire Foy is back this weekend with her nuanced and refreshing portrayal of a young Queen Elizabeth II for The Crown’s second season.

Over the last eight years, there have been a huge number of female faces we’ve grown to love watching on the telly, showbiz writer Emma Brankin picks some of the best.

Sarah Lancashire
We all remember her in the 90s as ditsy Raquel in ITV soap Coronation Street but more than two decades since she said goodbye to the cobbles, Sarah Lancashire is one of Britain’s most respected actresses. Despite shunning the spotlight, she’s had to tread down a fair few red carpets recently to collect a number of top acting gongs. A Best Actress Bafta winner earlier this year, she portrays one of the toughest women on TV as Happy Valley’s Sgt. Catherine Cawood. Her performance in Last Tango In Halifax has also seen her showered in awards. In fact, the only person who seemingly doesn’t enjoy her work is Sarah herself. The humble star admits she never watches her own TV shows. She’s missing out.

Sheridan Smith
The supremely talented Sheridan Smith’s rise from Gavin and Stacey bit-part player to National Treasure has been swift yet totally well deserved. In 2009, her ladette comedy Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps had just come to an end – but huge things lay ahead. Her turns in TV dramas such as Mrs. Biggs, The 7.39 and The C Word are just a few that have left audiences blown away by her talent. Her self-deprecating, vulnerable off-screen image has only endeared her further. And her lung-busting renditions of chart-toppers in ITV biopic Cilla have turned her into a bona fide solo artist with her own album.

Michaela Cole
As the creator, writer and star of her own acclaimed TV show Chewing Gum, Michaela Cole is a force to be reckoned with. She has won two BAFTAs for her work in bringing shop assistant Tracey, an inquisitive religious virgin, to life. Having been spotted from a young age at poetry open nights, it’s clear that Michaela’s talent and hard work has pushed her to stardom. Roles in Top Boy, Black Mirror, and The Aliens have underlined this. Plus she’s a down to earth legend who wore a dress her mother made to the Baftas. What’s not to love?

Olivia Colman
Broadchurch. The Night Manager. The Accused. Rev. Peep Show. The last eight years have undoubtedly seen Olivia Colman emerge as the Queen of British TV. So it’s no surprise then that the multiple Bafta winner is set to continue her reign on the silver scene in style by replacing Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II in the next series of The Crown. A truly fabulous actress, we wonder what the bets are that in the next eight years we see the actress become Dame Olivia Colman…?
